Concrete Replacement
Beginning the first week in April, Public Works performs annual fire hydrant flushing. Flushing rids the water of mineral sediment, facilitates regular maintenance and ensures the hydrants are in a high state of serviceability in the event of an emergency.

During April and early May, flushing is on-going. Residents are encouraged to check for possible water discoloration prior to use. If the water is discolored, it can usually be remedied by running a cold water tap for 5-10 minutes or until the water clears. Postponing laundry until water is clear (usually no more than one day) is recommended.

Street signs are posted in the affected area when hydrants are flushed. Call Public Works with any questions at (847) 734-8800.
