On March 16, 2010 at approximately 12:30 p.m. the Elk Grove Village Police Department responded to the 100 block of Lonsdale Rd regarding a Residential Burglary that just occurred. The victim reported that two(2) male dark-complected subjects entered the residence and removed currency and a purse from one of the bedrooms. The two offenders are further described as:

Male White or Hispanic, Dark complexion
30-40 years old
5'-5", stocky build
Dark hair and unshaven
Wearing dark clothing

Male White or Hispanic, Dark complexion
30-40 years old
5'-8"
Black hair with mustache and beard
Wearing dark clothing
 

Offender #1 posed as a roofing contractor and was allowed into the house by the victim. While the victim was being distracted, Offender #2 entered the house and removed an unknown amount of currency and jewelry from the bedroom. The offenders then fled in a large, dark colored van in an unknown direction. The Elk Grove Village Police Department is requesting the community's assistance in identifying the offenders. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call 847-357-4100.

 
This is one of the common ploys Ruse Burglars will use to attempt to talk their way into someone's house in order to steal their property. If any resident encounters a similar situation they should contact the Elk Grove Village Police Department immediately.
