| This is one of many ploys Ruse Burglars will use to attempt to talk their way into someone's house in order to steal their property. They are also known to use distraction as a technique where a second offender will enter the home while the victim is preoccupied with the first offender. If any resident encounters a situation where someone reports to be an Elk Grove Village employee or any utility worker needing to enter their home they should contact the Elk Grove Village Police Department immediately to verify the information. |
