Election Information

Parking on Street:  Not permitted between 2 am and 5 am and within 12 hours after a 2-inch snowfall.

Door-to-Door Soliciting:  Permitted between 9 am and 8 pm, Monday through Saturday.  All solicitors are required to be registered with the Village.  This registration in no way guarantees the character, methods, or product of the Solicitor.  If a solicitor is overly aggressive to the point of being a nusiance, call the Police Department at (847) 357-4100 or 9-1-1.

Outdoor Burning: Outdoor burning of leaves and trash is prohibited.

Lawn Height:  Any grass and weeds over 6 inches high are in violation of Village ordinances and must be cut or removed from the property.

Private Parking:  Vehicles must be parked on an approved concrete or asphalt surface.  Parking on the lawn is prohibited.  Parking or storage of inoperable vehicles is prohibited.

Posting of Signs:  Most signs posted in the Village are regulated by the Village and require permits.  Signs are not permitted in parkways (the area between the street and sidewalk), on street lights, on telephone poles, or in any other public rights-of-way.

Housing Maintenance:  All structures in the Village must be maintained according to the provisions of the housing maintenance code.  Residential buildings are regularly inspected by the Housing Maintenance Inspector.

Refuse, Garbage and Recycling Container Storage: On days other than collection days, containers must be stored in the garage or in the side or rear yards of properties. Containers may not be placed out before 6:00 pm the night before your normal collection day.
