Election Information
The Village of Elk Grove Village operates under a Council-Manager government. The utilization of this form of government allows the Village to benefit from both the strong policy leadership of elected officials and the professional administrative skills and experience of the Village Manager.

Registered and qualified voters in Elk Grove Village elect a Mayor and six Village Trustees for four-year terms to determine the level and cost of Village services and to establish codes and ordinances to guide and protect the development and use of property within the Village. The Mayor and Board of Trustees meet in the evening on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month to discuss, consider and act on policy matters. The meetings are held in the Charles J. Zettek Municipal Building at 901 Wellington Avenue and are open to the public.

The Village Manager is appointed by the Village Board and is delegated the authority to administer day to day operations of the Village. However, in accomplishing this task the Manager must adhere to the guidelines established by the Board via the policies it adopts and to reasonable management practices. The Village Manager is located in the Charles J. Zettek Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue and is available during normal business hours.
