| The Elk Grove Village Clerk's office will register voters during our regular business hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. |

Eligible voters can register to vote in person by going to one of the Cook County's six locations, a village clerk, city or township clerk, or when you obtain or renew your driver's license or State of Illinois identification at the license facility.
Two (2) forms of identification are required showing the applicants name and current address – drivers license, checkbook, piece of mail, utility bill etc.
Voter Registration will re-open two days after the election on Thursday, November 6, 2008. |

Grace Period Registration and Voting |
(Only at Cook County Clerk's Office, 69 W. Washington St., Chicago October 8, 2008 through October 21, 2008) |

There is only one way and one place to register to vote during the 14-day grace period. Unregistered voters must sign up to vote, in person, at the Cook County Clerk's downtown Chicago office – 69 W. Washington St. Room 500. You must show two pieces of identification to register.
Grace-period voters must vote absentee. You can vote in person at the Cook County Clerk's office downtown immediately after signing up to vote or receive an absentee ballot by mail that you can complete at home and return to the Cook County Clerk's office before Election Day. |

| Grace period registrants are not allowed to vote at the polls on Election Day or vote at any early voting site. |

| Early Voting (No excuse or reason needed) |
Registered voters in suburban Cook County can vote early from Tuesday, October 14, 2008 through Thursday, October 30, 2008 at any one of the early voting sites which are scattered across suburban Cook County, as well as downtown Chicago,
The Village of Elk Grove Village, 901 Wellington Avenue, is one of the Early Voting sites. The hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Saturday (October 18 th and 25 th ) from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Early voting will be conducted on touch screen equipment.
Early Voters must show a current government-issued photo ID (Illinois Driver's license, State ID or a Passport) to vote early. |

| In-Person Absentee Voting (Only at Cook County Clerk's Office) |
In-Person Absentee Voting will take place on Friday, October 31, 2008, Saturday, November 1, 2008, Sunday, November 2, 2008 and Monday November 3, 2008 only at the Cook County Clerk's five (5) suburban courthouses and their downtown office. |

If you prefer to vote absentee by mail, or if you have children away at school who wish to vote absentee, you may download an application at www.voterinfonet.com . Or stop by the Village Clerk's office at 901 Wellington Avenue for an application. Please note: the applications are usually available 4-6 weeks prior to the election.

| To register to vote, you must be: |
| (1) A U.S. Citizen, (2) At least 18 years old by Election Day, and (3) A resident of your precinct at least 30 days prior to an election. |

| When to re-register |
Your registration is permanent unless you move or change your name.
If you have moved within suburban Cook County, you must transfer your registration by re-registering at the Village Hall, Township Halls, or one of the Cook County locations.
Two forms of Identification are required.
Voters who legally change their name, but not their address, do not have to re-register. If you have changed your name, you can vote after updating your information at the polls. |
